Question: How much does it cost to use Santa Cruz Barter?
Answer: Fees for Santa Cruz Barter are $5 per month paid quarterly. You can save 20% by
signing up for a one year membership - $48.
Question: What happens to any information that I provide?
Any details that you give us will be kept secure. When placing a listing you
can choose how you want the listing to be answered. You have two choices:
a) Use the anonymous email address we
have assigned to you. In this case we will forward email from your
anonymous address to your real email
b) Use your real email address.

Question: What do I do if I forget my username or password?
If you forget your password, go to the Sign In page, click on "Forget your
password?" and fill in your username. We will email a new password to you. Using
the password we provide you may then change your password to anything you desire
(see question 4).
If you forget your username, you will need to
us directly and we will email it to you.
Question: How can I change my registration details?
You can view and change your registration details whenever you want from your
"My Account" page. Don't forget to amend your email address if it changes,
otherwise you won't receive any emails with your barter questions and offers.
Question: How do I place a listing for bartering?
To place an ad you must be registered and signed in. Once you've signed in, just
click on the "Place an Ad" link. Following the six steps you will be able to create your
headline, write about what it is you have that you want to barter, and then describe the
items or services that you would take in trade for your item or service. When you click
the "Save Listing" button your ad is automatically posted for other members to read.

Yes, you can attach a picture to your listing.

Question: How long will my listing be advertised on Santa Cruz Barter?
Your listing can remain on the site for the duration of your membership. However, we ask
that you delete your ad when your barter has been completed.
Question: Can I list more than one item per listing?

You can place your listing without adding a "want", and see what you are offered.
There's no obligation to barter if what you are offered is not something you
Question: How do I edit or delete my listing?
To edit or delete a listing, go to the "My Account" page, click on "View My
Listings" and select the listing you want edit or delete. To edit your listing,
just click on "Edit" and change the information. To delete your listing, click
on "Delete" and then click "OK" in the box that pops up. Your listing is
Question: How do I find listings?
You can locate listings by clicking "View Ads" on the menu bar. Then click on the
item or service category you are interested in. This brings up a list of the titles,
click on any title to see the details.
You can also search listings using one or more keywords. Search controls are located
at the top of the View Ads page.
Question: What if I can't find the item or service I'm looking for?
We recommend that you check our View Ads Page regularly because new listings are placed
all the time. You can also place your own listing requesting the item or service that you
want. You can search our site from the "View Ads" page for anything you want.
Question: How can I contact other members?
Once you are registered and signed in, you can contact a member who placed a listing by
clicking the email link at the bottom of their listing page.
Question: How do I know when I have received messages from other members?
You will receive an email from the other person. The email will be sent either
to your actual email address or via Santa Cruz Barter to your
anonymous email address.
You make this choice when you place your listing.
Question: How do I reply to questions and offers?
You email the other member directly. All negotiations are handled strictly
between the two of you.
Question: What happens after I accept an offer?
As with all other negotiations, this is strictly between you and the other
member. Once you have accepted a trade, please delete your listing.
Question: How do goods or services actually get exchanged?
Again, it is up to you and the other party to decide how you will exchange your
goods or services. Santa Cruz Barter does not get involved in these negotiations.
